TRAVEL TO MARGATE

 

Margate is an old-fashioned British seaside resort with its fish & chip shops, sandy beach, and strollable promenade. In recent years the town has seen a resurgence and you will find a great selection of vintage shops, cafes and restaurants. Attractions include the Turner Contemporary gallery (free entry), Dreamland FunFair, Shell Grotto.

 

Margate is a popular tourist town with plenty of accommodation options including hotels, bed & breakfast, Airbnb and camping. Other options close are Ramsgate and Broadstairs.

Travel connections are quick and easy with a direct train connection to London and a cheaper National Express coach option. Margate is only 20 miles from the ferry port of Dover, and close to the Ashford Eurostar station. Margate can be reached by a number of different ways (see below)

 

Car: Margate has excellent motorway access with both the M20 and M2 easily accessible from the A299 Thanet Way.

 

Air: Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick are under 2 hours away by car.
